本書梳理了隱喻認知研究的歷史，綜述了不同歷史時期、不同研究層面的有關隱喻實質和功能的理論，并指出了認知語言學家在隱喻認知研究中的分歧。本書從信息加工的全新角度深入探討認知隱喻在工作記憶中加工的方式，提出了解決認知語言學家在隱喻認知研究中分歧的方案。作者將認知心理學理論和隱喻理論相結合，嘗試闡釋隱喻通過其認知機制正面影響記憶的方式，從理論上論證了隱喻對記憶的影響。以變量設計、語料設計、實驗程序等嘗試建構隱喻的認知加工模型，分析了隱喻參與工作記憶過程并促進記憶效果的原理。

邵昌紅，女，漢族，1977年12月生，山東臨沂人。畢業于山東大學外國語學院，英語語言文學專業。現任職于山東財經大學外國語學院，副教授。主要從事認知語言學、心理語言學、二語習得與英語教學的研究。
